How is it that players can do a very short weave back and forth and make it impossible for me to hit them yet drill me perfectly with everything? Or the inverse, stand completely still, not moving, same weapon, I'm drilling them and doing 1 point of damage and they get full damage on me? |

There are thousands of vidoes on youtube, how am I suppose to know which you speak of? Assuming you're serious, I did a quick search on youtube for "how to strafe in dust 514" and came up with this video by regnum. Note, the footage is from a pretty old build of the game, but the concepts still hold true, I'd say.
Thank you, that was more to my intended point. I wanted a bit more of a technical side to it. The strafing I've witnessed seemed to turn the target invulnerable and this video highlighted a bit of where I on my side was failing. My gunplay is largely CQC because I'm usually a scout/shotgun.
Again, thank you. Great video. |

Yea, melee is something I'm strangely poor at. I need to practice that. I know, if someone were to watch what I was doing they'd be able to correct a lot of mistakes I am not cognizant of doing. One of the reasons I wish I had recording hardware to review my choices and methods, let alone what others are doing around me. I really miss the first days of Cloak being introduced. I learned so much about Dust in that couple weeks, as people were not great at detecting stealth, I was able to just watch what other people were doing and have lots of "ah, ha!" moments. |
